From the small California town of Los Olivos comes Bob Bruhn's 46 Hudson Pickup dubbed "Super Wasp".

All told it took three years to complete, but the time and effort was well worth the result. The truck is a true custom from the TCI frame up.

All the modifications were done in steel, no fiberglass was used. The cab was stretched seven inches and coupe doors were added with hidden hinges. The windshield was laid back approx two inches and the top chopped 1.5 inches. Drip rails were molded into the roof. The hood was cut into five pieces, pie cut, and reassembled. Then the unique twin tunnel entry to the shotgun blower scoop was added. The front fenders were extended, welded to the cab and the headlights frenched. The grille is a one-off custom designed by Bob and machined from billet aluminum. The bed was shortened eighteen inches and the rear fenders widened four inches. Matching fenders were used inside the bed to finish the tubs housing the huge 16" wide rear tires. The whole interior from the dash and console to the seat surround is all hand fabricated from steel. The running gear consists of a 500 cid Big Block Chevy sporting an 871 blower topped with Hilborn injection. This monster spins a 4L80E tranny backed by a Gear Vendors overdrive and a Speedway Engineering quick change rear end drives the tires.

One last thing, everyone who heard about it said, "Bob, you CAN"T put the tail lights in the exhaust! They'll melt!" Well Bob's got news for 'em, go have a look!
