History of the Supernationals
Beginnings
In the early 1990’s, experienced car show promoters Matt Torres and Reggie Tibbetts had a vision to develop an independent automotive show for New Mexico. In February, 1992, car enthusiasts across the Southwest were invited to the New Mexico State Fairgrounds in Albuquerque to take part in a new show to celebrate custom cars and hot rods. That show was the start of the Supernationals.

New Mexico's Premier Automotive Event
Now, a decade later, the Supernationals has become “the” premier annual automotive event in New Mexico. Each year, the show attracts prominent street rods and customs from throughout the country, as well as local and regional vehicles for both show and competition display. Bolstered by an exceptional corps of regular show cars, continued attendance growth, and its family-focused environment, the Supernationals has become a strong marketing venue with a broad, capitalized audience. This year, nearly 25,000 automotive enthusiasts from across the Southwest will again come to Albuquerque to share in the automotive passion at the Supernationals.
